However, once she was up, we did the morning 1.75 mile walk together. It was nice to have someone to share it with, but my wife has a very long stride and a fast pace, so she pushes me without words. I hit the elevated heart rates much sooner and for far longer than when I saunter along at my own pace. The 36 minute walk had me doing ten minutes in the fat burn zone, twenty-three minutes in cardio, and the final three minutes were at peak. We then went shopping and walked the length and breadth of Michael's, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and Bi-Lo. In mid-afternoon, I did a thirty-one minute session on the elliptical machine that zipped through fat burn (two minutes), spent twenty-eight minutes in cardio, and one minute sprint in peak.
